Azerbaijani Foreign Minister holds phone call with Pakistani counterpart

Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, held a telephone conversation with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Muhammad Ishaq Dar.

Report informs, citing the press service of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, that the parties discussed the current regional security situation and the growing tensions between Pakistan and India.

The Pakistani minister provided details about India's missile strikes on Pakistan on May 6–7 and Pakistan's retaliatory measures. It was noted that the Indian attacks primarily affected civilians, resulting in dozens of casualties, while Pakistan targeted military installations in response. Minister Dar also mentioned that he had held phone conversations with several foreign counterparts to explain the situation in detail.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, in turn, expressed solidarity with the people of Pakistan and condemned the military attacks that caused civilian deaths and injuries.

He emphasized the importance of preventing further escalation and expressed hope that the tension would be resolved through diplomatic means and dialogue.

The two ministers also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
