"Over recent days, there have been deliberate provocations by Armenia. This is another military adventure of the Armenian leadership," the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has said.
"Thus, the illegal visit of the former Armenian defense minister to the Azerbaijani territory, temporarily controlled by Russian peacekeepers, and holding military meetings there, the concentration of about 60 personnel of the Armenian armed forces on the road to the Azerbaijani Army positions in Lachin District, as well as the intensive shelling by the Armenian armed forces of the Azerbaijani army positions in Kalbajar and Lachin district indicate that Armenia is purposefully aggravating the situation. All this shows that Armenia is uninterested in ensuring peace and security in the region, as well as the delimitation of borders with Azerbaijan. We are emphasizing that the tension in the region is another military-political provocation of Armenia. The main responsibility for the current tension lies directly with the military-political leadership of Armenia," the ministry said.
