Azerbaijani FM mulls bilateral co-op, COP29 presidency with Colombian counterpart

Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with Colombia's Foreign Minister Luis Gilberto Murillo during the World Leaders Climate Action Summit at the 29th session of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), Report informs referring to Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Colombia, our country's chairmanship of COP29, current initiatives and priorities.

Satisfaction was expressed with the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Colombia both at the bilateral level and in a multilateral format within international organizations such as the UN and the Non-Aligned Movement.

The importance of using the political consultation mechanism to assess and discuss existing opportunities for further expansion of ties between the two countries was emphasized.

Providing detailed information about Azerbaijan's chairmanship of COP29, Bayramov noted that the country's chairmanship process has expanded opportunities for cooperation in climate change with many countries, including Colombia.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on other matters of mutual interest.
