Azerbaijani FM discusses situation in region with new Korean ambassador

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov discussed the situation in the region with the newly appointed ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Azerbaijan Lee Eun-Yong.

Azerbaijani MFA told Report that the minister received a copy of the credentials of Lee Eun-Yong.

He congratulated Ambassador Lee Eun-young on his appointment and wished him success in his work. The minister stressed the successful development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Korea, as well as the wide range of opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in many areas.

The Azerbaijani Foreign Minister spoke about the importance of further developing economic cooperation, emphasizing the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation activities between Azerbaijan and Korea.

Bayramov told the other side about the history of Armenia's aggressive policy against Azerbaijan, the position of the international community on the issue, the 44-day war, the situation in the region after the signing of trilateral statements, the threat of mines, and reconstruction work in the liberated territories.

In turn, Ambassador Lee expressed satisfaction with his appointment to Azerbaijan. The ambassador noted the successful development of relations between the two states and touched upon the prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Korea in political, economic, educational, and other fields.

The sides debated various aspects of bilateral ties between Azerbaijan and Korea and collaboration within international organizations. At the same time, the issues of involving Korean companies in the restoration and reconstruction work in the liberated areas were discussed.
