Azerbaijani FM, CIS Secretary General mull preparation for presidential elections

Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received the Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Sergey Lebedev, who was on a visit to Azerbaijan to observe the snap presidential elections, Report informs, citing MFA.

During the meeting, current issues on the agenda within the framework of the CIS, perspectives on cooperation, and issues arising from observing the snap presidential elections were discussed.

Minister Bayramov informed the other party in detail about the work done in connection with the extraordinary presidential elections of the Republic of Azerbaijan and emphasized that the elections were held in our liberated territories for the first time after more than 30 years. It was brought to attention that all preparatory works related to the organization of the elections have been completed, and at the same time, necessary measures have been implemented for international observers as well as foreign media representatives to monitor the elections.

The meeting also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
