Azerbaijani FM: Arms supplies to Armenia - source of threat to region

The supply of weapons to Armenia is an additional source of threat to the region, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, who is on a visit to Türkiye, said at a joint press conference with his counterpart Hakan Fidan, the Ankara bureau of Report informs.

He noted that despite the positive dynamics of the negotiation process after the draft peace agreement submitted by the Azerbaijani side to Armenia, territorial claims against Azerbaijan remain in force in the Constitution of Armenia and many legal acts: "The victory in Karabakh created new realities and opportunities in the South Caucasus. The position of the Azerbaijani side is that there are historical opportunities in the region to ensure sustainable and stable peace. Based on this, the Azerbaijani side submitted a draft peace agreement to Armenia. Although Azerbaijan put forward five basic principles of the peace agreement, it is no secret that Armenia has territorial claims against Azerbaijan and Türkiye."
