Azerbaijani firefighters contain nearly 100 fires in Turkey

There are no losses among Azerbaijani firefighters dispatched to Turkey to help contain the forest fires, deputy chief of the State Firefighting Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, colonel Rza Khudiyev said, Report informs.

"You know, forests in Turkey differ from ours greatly and mostly consist of conifers. The areas are rocky and have complex terrain, so light injuries are possible. We have brought our entire personnel. There are no problems, and the high spirit was observed among employees during the work. The Turkish state rendered us huge support within those 15-16 days. Our accommodation and provision with necessary equipment were all on time. In a short period, we managed to contain nearly 100 fires," he said.

He elaborated that each fire means at least 10-15 hectares of woodlands. The Turkish public praised the use of Azerbaijani firefighting helicopters and amphibia airplanes. The firefighters fulfilled their duty with high professionalism.
