Azerbaijani, Estonian FMs exchange letters

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and his Estonian counterpart Eva-Maria Liimets exchanged letters on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Estonia, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

In his letter, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that relations between the two countries have been developing steadily over the past 30 years, stressing that high-level reciprocal visits, as well as the existence of a broad legal framework between the two countries played an important role in strengthening relations. The minister said that the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Estonia is an important platform for discussing the bilateral economic agenda. Bayramov also expressed confidence that bilateral relations, based on the principles of international law, which have a solid foundation such as traditional friendship and mutual understanding, will further develop in the coming years.

In turn, Minister Eva-Maria Liimets noted the development of cooperation between the two countries over the past 30 years, emphasizing the achievements in cooperation in the field of higher education and information technology. Noting that Azerbaijan's efforts to strengthen security and broader regional cooperation in the South Caucasus were highly appreciated by Estonia, the minister stressed that her country has always supported Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Estonian minister expressed confidence that cooperation on all major issues on the bilateral agenda will continue.

The ministers extended their sincere congratulations and wished peace, tranquility and prosperity to the two friendly peoples.
