Azerbaijani embassy opened in Israel - UPDATED

An official opening ceremony of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Israel was held on March 29, Report informs.

The event was attended by the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Israel, Jeyhun Bayramov and Eli Cohen, as well as parliamentarians, and public and art representatives of both countries.

The ceremony started with the national anthems of both countries.

Speaking at the event, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said that the opening of the embassy will give a new impetus to the development of relations between the two countries. The diplomat talked about various directions of Azerbaijan-Israel cooperation and noted prospective opportunities. He said that the Jewish community of Azerbaijan contributes to the development of the Azerbaijani society. The minister said he is sure that the activities of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Israel will be activated after the opening of the embassy.

Minister Eli Cohen emphasized that the opening of the embassy during 30 years of cooperation indicates the depth of strategic relations. Calling Azerbaijan a strategic partner of Israel, the minister noted that the two countries cooperate closely in various fields. He expressed confidence that the relations will deepen further.
