Sofia has hosted the 4th meeting of political consultations between the ministries of foreign affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Bulgaria, Report informs.
The Azerbaijani delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yalchin Rafiyev, while Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Tihomir Stoytchev chaired the Bulgarian side.
During the consultations, the sides discussed the current situation of and prospects for bilateral relations in political, economic, energy, transport and humanitarian areas, as well as cooperation within international organizations.
They stressed the importance of reciprocal high-level visits in terms of developing bilateral bonds, adding that the visits expected next year will make an additional contribution to the current dynamics of cooperation.
The sides also noted the significance of strategic dialogue and political consultation mechanisms between the two countries, as well as the activity of the Joint Commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Bulgaria.
The Bulgarian side was informed about the situation in the region in the post-conflict period, mine threat in Azerbaijan`s liberated territories, the large-scale reconstruction, restoration and urban development works carried out by the country, as well as the implementation of the State Program on the Great Return to the liberated territories.
The meeting also discussed other issues of mutual concern.
