Azerbaijan, Finland explore political, economic, humanitarian issues

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen during the 79th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 79), Report informs, citing Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry.

The meeting included discussions on bilateral and multilateral issues, including Finland’s upcoming 2025 OSCE chairmanship and regional matters.

The Azerbaijani side highlighted that COP29 could offer additional opportunities for cooperation.

Detailed information was provided to the Finnish side on the post-conflict situation in the region, and the progress of the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process.

It was emphasized that the territorial claims against Azerbaijan in Armenian legislation and Armenia’s rapid militarization are the primary obstacles to achieving sustainable peace in the region.

The meeting also covered other bilateral and multilateral issues of mutual interest.
