Azerbaijani, Bangladeshi MFAs hold political consultations

Baku has hosted the first meeting of political consultations between the ministries of foreign affairs of Azerbaijan and Bangladesh, Report informs, referring to Azerbaijan’s MFA.

In the consultations, the Azerbaijani side was represented by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Elnur Mammadov, and the Bangladeshi side by Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh Masud Bin Momen.

The meeting focused on the current state of relations between the two countries, the expansion of cooperation in political, economic, humanitarian, and other fields, and future development prospects.

Deputy Minister Elnur Mammadov gave detailed information to the other side about the situation in the region in the post-conflict period, demining in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories, as well as the restoration and reconstruction work carried out there.

The parties emphasized that the COP29 hosted by Azerbaijan this year is a favorable opportunity for new areas of cooperation.

They also exchanged views on cooperation between the two countries within the framework of international organizations, strengthening of inter-parliamentary relations, promotion of tourism between Azerbaijan and Bangladesh, and regional issues.
