Azerbaijani ambassador discusses inter-parliamentary cooperation at Russian Federation Council

Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Russia, Rahman Mustafayev, held a meeting with the First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, Andrey Yatskin, and the Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, Grigory Karasin.

Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani Embassy to Russia, that the meeting focused on enhancing Azerbaijan-Russia inter-parliamentary cooperation and organizing the next session of the Inter-Parliamentary Commission for Cooperation between the Milli Majlis and the Federal Assembly.

The parties also exchanged views on current issues in bilateral relations and the regional situation.

Ambassador Mustafayev informed his counterparts about the ongoing negotiation process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. He emphasized the need for Armenia to promptly remove provisions in its legal and regulatory documents related to territorial claims against Azerbaijan, which are the main obstacles to concluding a peace treaty.
