Azerbaijan to help Vietnam restore provinces affected by Typhoon Yagi

Azerbaijan will help Vietnam in the restoration of provinces affected by the devastating Typhoon Yagi, Report informs.

“Azerbaijan through AIDA (Azerbaijan International Development Agency) under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will participate in the process of recovery and restoration of provinces of VietNam affected by Typhoon Yagi, especially in the restoration of a school,” Ambassador to Hanoi Shovgi Mehdizade said on X.

The super typhoon Yagi, raging in the northern regions of Vietnam since the end of the first week of September, has damaged the country in the amount of 40 trillion dong (more than $1.63 billion). The typhoon was the strongest recorded in Vietnam in the past 30 years.

The typhoon and its subsequent floods and landslides have killed hundreds of people, with nearly 2,000 people injured.

Industrial production in several northern provinces was halted, 235,000 houses were damaged and more than 300,000 hectares of rice and cash crops were inundated.
