Azerbaijan takes over BSEC chairmanship for first half of next year

At the 49th Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC), held online, Azerbaijan was handed over the chairmanship for the first half of 2025.

Report informs, citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev represented Azerbaijan at the meeting.

During the event, Azerbaijan's achievements in advancing the international climate agenda within the framework of the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) were noted, along with progress in increasing climate financing and carbon market agreements.

As a result of the meeting, along with the adoption of the current meeting's protocol and several important decisions, the chairmanship for the first half of 2025 was transferred to Azerbaijan.
