Azerbaijan supports improvement of relations between Turkey and Armenia

Azerbaijan supports the normalization of ties between Turkey and Armenia, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov told a press conference today.

Report quotes him as saying this cooperation will promote the development of regional cooperation.

He noted that only international law could be the basis of normalizing bilateral ties, and this is what Azerbaijan and Turkey, but not Armenia, were always committed to.

Turkish Foreign Minister Cavusoglu said at a Grand National Assembly on December 13 that several steps will be taken to normalize relations with Armenia. He noted that Turkey intends to open charter flights to Armenia.

Later, Turkey's foreign ambassador to the United States Serdar Kilic was appointed the country's special representative on the normalization of relations with Armenia.
