Azerbaijan sends humanitarian aid to Indonesia

The Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan has provided $50,000 as humanitarian assistance to Indonesia via the Indonesian Red Cross Society, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

The Azerbaijani Government allocated the funds following President Ilham Aliyev's order to support the elimination of the consequences of the earthquake that hit the Indonesian island of Sulawesi on January 15, 2021. Indonesian Red Cross Society expressed gratitude to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the Azerbaijani people for the provided humanitarian aid.

A 6.2-magnitude earthquake hit Sulawesi on January 15, 2021. As a result, 27 Indonesians lost their lives, more than 600 got injured, about 100 houses were damaged, and ten houses were utterly destroyed.
