Azerbaijan's prosecutor general: Preparations for COP29 in final stage

The Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan, in cooperation with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), organized a special session titled "Protecting People and the Planet through Crime Prevention and Justice - from Vienna (UNTOC-COP12) to Baku (UNFCCC-COP29)", Report informs.

The event was attended by high-ranking representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Vienna, as well as representatives of the Prosecutor General's Offices of Austria and Thailand, the International Anti-Corruption Academy, and the International Association of Prosecutors.

In her speech, Director-General/Executive Director of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV)/United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Ghada Waly highly praised Azerbaijan's efforts in preparing for the upcoming climate conference COP29, which will take place in November. She noted that significant work has been done under Azerbaijan's chairmanship.

Azerbaijan's Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev emphasized that the preparatory activities for COP29 are in their final stages.

He also announced a planned high-level session titled "Mobilizing Law Enforcement in the Fight Against Climate Change," which will be held on November 15 in Baku as part of COP29. During his visit to Austria, the prosecutor general of Azerbaijan held a series of bilateral meetings.
