Azerbaijan's foreign minister informs his Dutch counterpart on Armenia's militarization

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.

Report informs, citing the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, that various aspects of Azerbaijani-Dutch relations were discussed at the meeting.

The importance of mutual visits and contacts within the framework of various international events was noted for reviewing the spectrum of bilateral relations and exploring new areas of future cooperation between the two countries.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also informed his interlocutor in detail about the current situation and realities in the region in the post-conflict period, large-scale restoration and construction work in the territories liberated from occupation, measures to combat the mine threat, as well as the process of normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

The sides focused on the main factors that pose a threat to the work on signing a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia, including the presence of territorial claims against Azerbaijan in the Constitution and other legislative documents of Armenia, as well as the rapid militarization of this country.

Speaking about the chairmanship of COP29, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that the Azerbaijani side is ready to assess the possibilities of potential cooperation.

The meeting also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
