Azerbaijan represented at Summit of Association of Caribbean States

At the 9th Summit of Heads of State and/or Government of the Association of Caribbean States in Antigua, Guatemala, Azerbaijan was represented by Ambassador to Mexico Mammad Talibov.

Report informs, citing the embassy, that the summit was attended by high-ranking representatives of more than 35 countries.

As part of the event, the diplomat held bilateral meetings with the foreign ministers of Guatemala, Panama, and Costa Rica. During the meetings, an exchange of views took place in the direction of continuing and expanding the established relations of friendship and cooperation between the countries in a bilateral and multilateral format.

At a meeting with Rodolfo Sabonge, the Secretary General of the Association of Caribbean States, gratitude was expressed for inviting Azerbaijan to take part in the event, it was noted that Azerbaijan is ready to expand ties with this organization and its member states. The Secretary General also expressed the interest of the Association he leads in developing relations with Azerbaijan.

As a result of the event, chaired by the President of Guatemala, the Antigua Declaration was adopted.
