Azerbaijan's innovation strategy was presented at the 68th session of the Assemblies of the Member States of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva.
According to Report, a delegation led by Kamran Imanov, chairman of the Board of the Intellectual Property Agency of Azerbaijan, is participating in the event both online and in person.
In his speech, Imanov said that the development of Azerbaijan's intellectual property sector is being carried out in line with the country's Socio-Economic Development Strategy, the Digital Development Concept and the Artificial Intelligence Strategy for 2025–2028.
He noted that intellectual property is becoming increasingly interdisciplinary and contributing to the development of the innovation ecosystem, while institutional reforms implemented by Azerbaijan's president have made the Intellectual Property Agency one of the key participants in this process.
Imanov thanked the WIPO Secretariat for including the agency among 15 selected intellectual property offices and featuring it in the "Report of the Leaders of the Future."
The agency currently operates the PƏNAH digital industrial property platform, integrated with WIPO's IPAS system, offering 24/7 online registration, 3D capabilities, open registers, mobile platforms and accessibility features. A digital copyright platform is also functioning successfully.
Imanov added that the agency has developed an artificial intelligence bot with advisory functions and is working with the Eurasian Patent Organization to create AI solutions for automating key stages of patent registration processes.
