Azerbaijan overcame all challenges of pandemic within its NAM chairmanship

Azerbaijan's chairmanship in the Non-Aligned Movement is the success of the country's foreign policy, head of the International Security Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Yalchin Rafiyev said during the panel discussions on the role of youth held by the Youth Network of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC).

According to him, Azerbaijan's chairmanship in the organization was at the peak of the coronavirus pandemic: "However, we successfully coped with this challenge, at the initiative of Azerbaijan, special sessions were held to combat COVID-19. This is Azerbaijan's success within the framework of the Non-Aligned Movement and in foreign policy in general.

Rafiyev noted the importance of creating the Youth Network of the Non-Aligned Movement, adding that the ideas proposed by its members are not left without attention and are further considered by the organization.

The head of the department noted that Azerbaijan is pursuing a balanced foreign policy, including within the framework of the Non-Aligned Movement, which includes 120 countries.

Azerbaijan's chairmanship in the NAM was supposed to expire in 2022 but was extended for another year.
