Azerbaijan, Luxembourg mull current state of peace process between Baku and Yerevan

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Luxembourg's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Xavier Bettel within the framework of the High-Level Week of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.

Report informs citing Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry that the sides discussed prospects for bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Luxembourg, as well as issues of regional and international security.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov provided detailed information about the current situation and realities in the region in the post-conflict period, including the progress of the peace process and normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as existing problems.

He noted that Armenia's ongoing territorial claims against Azerbaijan in the Armenian Constitution are the main obstacle to achieving peace.

The sides stressed the importance of using existing prospects for cooperation in combating climate change within the framework of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

They also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
