Azerbaijan, Iraq to hold IGC meeting in Baku soon

The next meeting of the Azerbaijani-Iraqi Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation will be held in Baku in the near future, Report informs referring to Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry.

Ahead of the meeting, Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Yalchin Rafiyev visited Iraq, where he met with the Minister of Communications, co-chairman of the commission from the Iraqi side, Hayam al-Yasiri.

The parties emphasized the importance of the IGC's activities for the development of bilateral ties in the economic, trade and humanitarian spheres, and expressed confidence that the upcoming meeting in Baku will give additional impetus to cooperation between the two countries.

The third meeting of the IGC was held in December 2023 in Baghdad.

The co-chairman of the commission from the Azerbaijani side is the Minister of Digital Development and Transport.
