Azerbaijan, IAEA ink technical co-op program

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi have signed the Country Programme Framework (CPF) in the field of technical cooperation with the IAEA for 2024-2029, Report informs.

"Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov had a meeting with Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency on the sidelines of the UNGA79. Azerbaijan strongly supports nuclear safety and security and international cooperation to strengthen it, emphasizing the indispensable role of the IAEA verification system in non-proliferation and peaceful use of nuclear energy. Foreign Minister and Director General signed the Country Programme Framework (CPF) for the Republic of Azerbaijan in the field of Technical Cooperation with the IAEA for 2024-2029. The agreement defines mutually agreed priority development needs and interests to be supported through technical cooperation activities," the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry wrote on X.
