Azerbaijan has been Georgia's main trade partner for decades, says deputy FM

Azerbaijan and Georgia have always supported each other on the path of development, Georgian First Deputy Foreign Minister Lasha Darsalia said at the award ceremony of the marathon on the 30th anniversary of the restoration of Azerbaijan's independence on October 18, Report informs.

Lasha Darsalia stressed that friendly relations with neighboring Azerbaijan are centuries old.

"Our relations are developing year by year, and they have reached the level of strategic partnership. Georgia and Azerbaijan have always successfully cooperated in numerous areas and implemented important projects in transport and energy. Azerbaijan has been Georgia's main trade partner for decades. Political cooperation between the two countries is also at a high level," he said.

The deputy minister noted that Baku and Tbilisi are maintaining exemplary relations.

He underlined that establishing stability and peace in the region is a common goal of Georgia and Azerbaijan.

Then, Lasha Darsalia congratulated the friendly and brotherly people of Azerbaijan on Independence Day.
