Azerbaijan, Germany hold next round of political consultations

The latest round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Germany took place in Baku, Report informs, referring to Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry.

Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev led the Azerbaijani delegation, while Konrad Arz von Straussenburg, Director for Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia at the German Federal Foreign Office, headed the German delegation.

Discussions focused on the current state and future prospects of bilateral cooperation in political, economic, energy, transport, and humanitarian sectors, particularly in education and health. The expansion of the contractual and legal framework was also addressed.

Cooperation within international organizations was a key topic, with updates on preparations for the upcoming COP29, which will be hosted by Azerbaijan in November 2024.

The meeting also covered regional post-conflict developments, Azerbaijan’s efforts towards lasting peace, landmine issues in liberated territories, and extensive reconstruction work.

Other mutual interests were also discussed during the consultations.
