Azerbaijan condemns attacks on Pakistan by Armenian lobby in US

Azerbaijani Consul General in Los Angeles Nasimi Agayev and Turkish Consul General in Los Angeles Can Oğuz jointly attended an online meeting with the Pakistani community leaders in the United States on March 4, the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles told Report.

Addressing the meeting, Agayev expressed gratitude for the comprehensive political support of brotherly Turkey and Pakistan to the struggle for justice during the Patriotic War, as a result of which Azerbaijan restored its territorial integrity and historical fairness after 30 years of illegal occupation.

The diplomat thanked the Pakistani community, especially in Los Angeles, for their full support to Azerbaijan, both during and after the war. Speaking about establishing close friendly relations with the Pakistani community in recent years, Agayev said that this process began in Los Angeles. The relations between the three communities were established through the efforts of the Consulates General of Azerbaijan, Pakistan, and Turkey.

Agayev stated that the radical Armenian lobby in the US launched a vicious smear campaign against Pakistan after the war because it supported Azerbaijan, noting that this once again demonstrates the true nature of these extremist lobby groups.

The consul general stressed that the Armenian lobby is interested in continuing hostility against Azerbaijan and Turkey and minds only itself. Therefore, these lobby organizations are not interested in establishing peace in the region, because if Armenia develops normal relations with its neighbors, the opportunities of the Armenian lobby organizations to collect donations and mobilize the diaspora around radical ideology will decrease. It is no coincidence that after the November 10 agreement, the Armenian lobby is working hard to violate this agreement, to prevent the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, and to ignite a new war.

Noting that the Consulate General immediately condemned the insidious attacks of the lobby on Islamabad and expressed solidarity with the Pakistani community, Agayev stressed the importance of the further strengthening of the close relations between the brotherly communities of Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Pakistan.

Turkish Consul General Oğuz drew attention to the historical brotherhood and cooperation between the three countries. He said that Turkey's political support to Azerbaijan during the Patriotic War was based on the unshakable ties between the two countries, as well as international law and known UN Security Council resolutions.

In his speech, Oguz welcomed brotherly Pakistan's firm support to Azerbaijan and regretted that the Armenian lobby in California, which targeted Azerbaijan and Turkey, has already attacked the Pakistani community. He emphasized the need for politicians in California to listen to and consider the views and concerns of the communities of Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Pakistan, avoiding bias.

Addressing later, Pakistani community leaders said they were always by the side of brotherly Azerbaijan and Turkey, showed great satisfaction with the restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, and believed that this would lead to lasting peace in the region.

There are currently about 1 million Pakistanis in the US and more than 250,000 in California. The role and influence of this community in the socio-political life of the US are continually growing.
