Azerbaijan calls on France to implement recommendations of UN Human Rights Committee

Azerbaijan has called on France to implement the recommendations of the UN Human Rights Committee based on the obligations enshrined within the International Covenant of Civil and Political Rights, according to Report.

"We commend the findings of the UN Human Rights Committee," Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry's Spokesperson Aykhan Hajizada said in a post on X.

The Committee expressed concern about the forced return of foreign citizens at the French-Italian border without access to proper asylum procedures and information about their rights. The committee is also concerned that the systematic evacuation of temporary shelters of migrants at the British-French border and slums in France's overseas territory of Mayotte, sometimes carried out with excessive force, worsens the already miserable living conditions these people face.
