Azerbaijan and Latvia gear up for intergovernmental commission meeting in 2025

Azerbaijan and Latvia are actively engaged in preparatory work for the upcoming meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Scientific, Technical, and Cultural Cooperation. The meeting is tentatively scheduled to take place in Baku during the first half of 2025, Edgars Skuja, the Latvian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, told Report.

"The Intergovernmental Commission serves as a crucial platform for discussing interstate relations, primarily focusing on economics, transport, logistics, and business," emphasized the Ambassador.

Ambassador Skuja further revealed that a meeting between the co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Commission is planned for November 15, on the sidelines of COP29 in Baku. "The Latvian Minister of Agriculture will be visiting Baku and will hold a meeting with the Azerbaijani Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources. We are working towards ensuring that the next meeting of the Commission takes place in the first half of the coming year, likely in Baku," he noted.

The ambassador added that the Commission intends to discuss a wide array of topics, underscoring the significance of the ministerial meeting in November.
