Azerbaijan, Albania discuss promising areas of cooperation

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania, Igli Hasani within the framework the high-level week of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 79), Report informs, referring to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During their meeting, the ministers discussed bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Albania, as well as the current regional situation.

They highlighted the importance of joint efforts to strengthen relations based on friendship, mutual respect, and beneficial cooperation in political, economic, energy security, cultural, educational, and other fields.

Energy cooperation was emphasized as the main driving force of bilateral economic relations.

Besides bilateral relations, the parties also emphasized the need to continue mutually beneficial cooperation, mutual support, and solidarity within multilateral platforms.

Bayramov also provided detailed information about the regional situation during the post-conflict period, including large-scale restoration and reconstruction works in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories, and efforts towards the normalization and advancement of the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on other topics of mutual interest.
