Azay Guliyev: All efforts must be directed at signing peace treaty between Baku and Yerevan

There is a historic opportunity between Azerbaijan and Armenia to turn the page of confrontation and establish good-neighborly relations, the head of the Azerbaijani delegation at the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Azay Guliyev said speaking as part of the assembly's winter session in Vienna, according to Report.

He said Azerbaijan acknowledges the potential of the OSCE PA as an effective platform to contribute to trust and confidence-building efforts between Baku and Yerevan.

"Last December Azerbaijan and Armenia enjoyed mutual compromises regarding COP-29 and swapped of convicted military personal based on bilateral agreement which must be considered as remarkable outcome of bilateral negotiations," Azay Guliyev said.

The head of the delegation believes that this momentum needs to be maintained, all efforts must be directed at encouraging both countries to engage through bilateral dialogue to ultimately achieve normalization and signing a peace treaty.
