Aykhan Hajizada: More than 60 citizens of Azerbaijan crossed border of Iran

Appeals received on the hotlines of the Azerbaijan embassies in Israel and Iran, as well as the Consulate General in Tabriz, are reviewed daily, said Aykhan Hajizada, the Spokesperson of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Azerbaijan, Report informs.

He said that measures continue to obtain appropriate permits for citizens of Azerbaijan and other countries wishing to leave Iran by crossing the land border.

According to Hajizada, Azerbaijani citizens in Israel are accordingly directed to neighboring Egypt and Jordan.

"To date, our Embassy and Consulate General in Iran have received about 500 appeals from Azerbaijani citizens, of which more than 60 have crossed the border. Along with this, more than 1,200 appeals from 51 countries are currently being considered, and appropriate border crossing permits are being provided for them. Appropriate measures have been taken for 34 of our citizens in Israel to cross into Jordan," the Foreign Ministry representative noted.
