Aygun Attar: Russia has completely lost the South Caucasus due to documents signed in US

Professor Aygun Attar, Chairperson of the Türkiye-Azerbaijan Friendship, Cooperation, and Solidarity Foundation, stated in an interview with the Turkish TV channel Haber Global that Russia has completely lost its influence over the South Caucasus following documents signed in the United States.

According to Report, Attar emphasized that Russia’s misguided policy toward Azerbaijan has come at a high cost.

“Control over the Zangazur Corridor, as outlined in the statement of November 10, 2020, could have effectively been transferred to Russia. However, Russia lost this opportunity,” she said.

She added that peace has now arrived in the South Caucasus: “The losers are Russia, France, and the Armenian diaspora. Therefore, the signatures put in Washington are very significant.”
