American centers to open in Azerbaijan’s Sheki, Lankaran

Memorandums of Understanding were signed in Baku on the opening of two American centers in Sheki and Lankaran, Report informs.

At the signing ceremony, US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Earle Litzenberger noted that the signed memorandums will provide an opportunity to open American centers in two more cities. Thus, their total number will reach six.

He added that these centers will provide an opportunity to continue education, learn more about the US, and improve the English language.

The diplomat said that he cannot wait for the moment when he would go to Sheki and Lankaran to cut the ribbon when opening the centers, also thanking everyone who contributed to the signing of the memorandums.

The Baku American Center operates under a special agreement between the US Embassy and the Azerbaijan University of Languages ​​signed in 2007.

In 2017, the Baku American Center received Gold status for its activities among American centers around the world.

The American Center also operates in the Azerbaijani cities of Ganja, Khachmaz, Salyan and Kurdemir.
