Ambassador: Uzbekistan aims to further deepen cooperation with Azerbaijan

Relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan are rapidly developing, and their further development in political, economic, investment, scientific-technical, and cultural-humanitarian spheres will be based on the joint partnership, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan Bakhrom Ashrafkhanov told at an event in Baku dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Report informs.

"The rapid development of Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations is based on common history, customs, religion, and mutual trust. The merits of the presidents of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, Ilham Aliyev and Shavkat Mirziyoyev, contribute greatly to improving the quality of bilateral relations," said the diplomat.

He noted that the state visit of the President of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan in August 2024 further strengthened the relations between the two countries.

"The development of bilateral cooperation in political, economic, investment, scientific-technical, and cultural-humanitarian spheres will continue to be based on joint partnership," said the ambassador.

Ashrafkhanov emphasized that Uzbekistan is satisfied with the process of Karabakh's restoration, the construction of social infrastructure and production facilities there, adding that Uzbekistan will continue to support Azerbaijan in this matter.

The diplomat also expressed confidence that friendly relations between the two countries will continue to develop "in accordance with the interests of our countries in the name of peace, independence, and stability in the South Caucasus and Central Asia."
