Ambassador: Provocation against Azerbaijan on French TV stem from unfair politics

The use of provocative words by the TV host of the French FR2 TV against Azerbaijan has negative intentions and is related to unfair politics, Turkish Ambassador to France Yunus Demirer said in his statement to Report commenting on the provocative statements voiced by the host during the parade of Azerbaijani and Armenian athletes.

According to the ambassador, France takes an unfair position in its relations with Azerbaijan.

“Prior to that, the relations between the two countries were at a high level. Today, the problem in these relations stems from France's unfair support for Armenia. Karabakh is the historical land of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan liberated its territories on its own. If France manages to take a fair position, relations between the two countries will be back to normal,” the ambassador said.

He said that the provocative words against Azerbaijan on the air of the French TV are related to an unfair policy against Azerbaijan:

“It is no coincidence that we heard provocative statements during the opening of the Olympic Games. The Olympic Games is an event that contributes to sincerity, good relations, friendship and brotherhood between countries. The hosts’s use of provocative words during the parade of the Azerbaijani and Armenian athletes at the opening ceremony has negative intentions and is related to unfair politics.”
