Ambassador: Progress being achieved in negotiations on new EU-Azerbaijan partnership agreement

"Azerbaijan is an important partner of the European Union. At present, negotiations are underway on a new partnership agreement between Azerbaijan and the European Union. We can call this contract a new generation of agreements. Since the foundation of our current relations was laid in the mid 90s and, of course, there is a need for renewal of these bases," Head of EU Delegation to Azerbaijan Kestutis Jankauskas said.

Report informs that Jankauskas spoke at a presentation of a new project entitled "Improving the efficiency and quality of the judiciary system in Azerbaijan", a Joint Program of the European Union and the Council of Europe.

According to him, both sides want to develop this partnership, so there is a need for modern, strong and renewed bases.

The ambassador said that the progress is being achieved in negotiations on the new partnership agreement.
