Ambassador: Opening of flights contributes to development of cooperation between Azerbaijan, Pakistan

The opening of flights from Pakistan to Azerbaijan contributes to the development of bilateral cooperation, Pakistani ambassador to Azerbaijan Bilal Hayee said on the first flight from Lahore to Baku, Report informs.

"Today we witnessed the first historic flight operated by Pakistan International Airlines to Azerbaijan. This is a remarkable day in relations between the two fraternal countries," the ambassador said.

According to him, Baku is the first city in the region of Central Asia and the South Caucasus, where Pakistan International Airlines will fly. This symbolizes Pakistan's desire to develop cooperation with Azerbaijan.

From this week, Pakistan International Airlines launches flights to Baku from two Pakistani cities - Karachi and Lahore. Azerbaijan's national air carrier also plans to launch flights from Baku to Lahore.
