At the moment, active work is underway to further expand cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan Bakhrom Ashrafkhanov said during a round table on Azerbaijani-Uzbek relations and early presidential elections in Uzbekistan, Report informs.
"Last year, Uzbekistan hosted Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev 3 times. The result of such intensive meetings was the construction of new cooperation mechanisms, namely, interregional cooperation," he said.
According to the ambassador, this year also promises to be fruitful.
"The first step towards achieving this goal was taken by the participation of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the summit of the Non-Aligned Movement," he added.
