Ambassador: 'Azerbaijan and Japan have established strong cooperation'

Azerbaijan and Japan have established strong cooperation, the Japanese Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Junichi Wada, said at the event on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with Azerbaijan, Report informs.

The ambassador noted that over the past 30 years, Japan has implemented numerous projects with Azerbaijan: “There are sufficient grounds for further strengthening of friendly relations between our countries.”

He expressed confidence that the opening of a direct flight between Tokyo and Baku in the future and the further expansion of cooperation in the field of agriculture will make an essential contribution to the development of relations between the two countries.

In turn, the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, Mukhtar Babayev, said that after gaining independence, Azerbaijan was one of the countries that cooperated closely with Japan in many fields.

According to him, work is currently being done to transform Karabakh into a green energy zone: “It’s important to involve Japanese companies in these works.”
