Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office (CMC) Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade has arrived in Moscow to participate in the 7th Reporting and Election Congress of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation.
The Reporting-Election Congress of the Spiritual Administration of the Russian Federation is held every five years. This year it is held for the first time in the Moscow Cathedral mosque.
The 7th Reporting and Election Congress of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation unanimously re-elected mufti Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin Chairman of the organization.
Ravil Gainutdin, who celebrated his 60th birthday this year, has headed Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation since 1994. He is also the Chairman of the Council of Muftis of Russia, based on DUMRF.
According to the data published at the Congress, today the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation unites more than 2,000 centralized and local organizations of Muslims from 53 subjects of the Russian Federation. The meeting was attended by 149 delegates of the Congress, representatives of Federal and regional authorities, invited guests from abroad and journalists.
