AIR Center: Azerbaijan's relations with EU became hostage to Armenia-Azerbaijan disputes

Since its establishment, the Center of Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center) has maintained principles of transparency and openness regarding its activities and financial sources, AIR Center said in response to Armenia's Civilnet internet resource's article titled "Azerbaijan's digital war on France," Report informs.

"It is a well-known fact to the public that the center was established by the decree of the President of Azerbaijan in 2019, and this information is posted on the Center's official website. Since its establishment, AIR Center has actively worked with various partners on matters of mutual interest, and representatives from France have also participated in events organized by the center," the statement emphasized.

It was noted that due to the policy of the current French administration, relations between Azerbaijan and France have seriously deteriorated. As a result, Azerbaijan's relations with France, and more broadly with the European Union (EU), have become hostage to Armenian-Azerbaijani disputes:

"Against this background, we witness Paris accusing Azerbaijan of its foreign policy mistakes and failures, including problems in relations with France's overseas territories and certain international issues. Despite its ethnic cleansing and occupation policy, Armenia, benefiting from France's support, uses this country to pressure Azerbaijan."

The statement also highlighted that AIR Center remains committed to strengthening cooperation with European partners and has consistently sought joint discussion of matters of mutual interest:

"For this reason, the article published by Civilnet, which claims to be a platform for dialogue and human rights protection, contains unfounded allegations and personal attacks directed at Farid Shafiyev, Chairman of AIR Center’s Board of Directors."
