Ahmed Obali: Independence of South Azerbaijan is also important and inevitable

The South Azerbaijan is forming up and the line, built on the ideology of Azerbaijanism, is strong and unshakable, Ahmed Obali, a political emigrant from South Azerbaijan who lives in the United States, said in an interview with Report.

According to him, in South Azerbaijan, the mullah regime regularly tried to Iranianize Azerbaijanis: “But, despite this, we Azerbaijanis cannot be separated from each other. After the independence of the North of Azerbaijan, the independence of South Azerbaijan is important for our life and is necessary for the further strengthening of our Azerbaijan. To preserve our identity, it is necessary to create the South Azerbaijan Republic."

Obali said that the open support for world Azerbaijanis voiced by the President of Azerbaijan in his last speech made Iran somewhat more aggressive: "In fact, Iran cannot do anything, so this aggression will be manifested in statements or comments. Because Iran is no longer the country capable of committing serious provocations against Azerbaijan. At the same time, President Ilham Aliyev's support for Azerbaijanis living outside the country is a very remarkable historical event."

Obali noted that after the 44-day Patriotic War, the Azerbaijani state is becoming even stronger and, when necessary, it gives adequate response to Iran, which is still committing provocations against Azerbaijan: "The support from the first person of Azerbaijan for compatriots living outside the country was an excellent response to Iran's provocation committed on the Azerbaijani border under the guise of military exercises. I think that Azerbaijan, as a state, will do everything possible to protect the rights and security of our compatriots."

Obali stressed that Iran always supported Armenia. According to him, this state is built on the ideology of Persianism, in which the Turks are considered the main enemy:

"Therefore, Iran played a very big role in the occupation of the city of Shusha, the perpetration of the Khojaly genocide and the occupation of Azerbaijani lands in general. During this period, Iran supplied Armenia with ammunition, fuel, and food for the Armenian aggressors. The Armenian military lived on the food of the Iranian army for many years. Iran even helped in the construction of fortifications by the Armenians in the occupied territories. The Azerbaijani state knows all this. Iran played a role in the demolition of houses, the smuggle of building materials from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan. The main goal was to quickly destroy, devastate these territories so that the Azerbaijanis would not return there. Iran's support for Armenia not only lasted 30 years, but also gained wide scope during World War II, when ammunition was sent to Armenia through South Azerbaijan. After our compatriots protested twice, Iran was forced to somewhat soften its policy. However, this ammunition was sent at night."
