8th Global Forum kicks off in Baku

The 8th Global Baku Forum of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center has kicked off in Baku, Report informs.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev opened the event with a welcoming speech.

The forum is attended by delegates from more than 40 countries - former heads of state and government, politicians, political scientists, experts, public figures, leaders and representatives of international and non-governmental organizations.

As part of the forum, which will last until November 6, eleven panel sessions will be held.

The forum consists of various panels on the topics “The Emerging Post-COVID-19 Global Order,” “The New World Economy,” “Peace, Security and Human Rights: in New Era,” “Combating Climate Change and Meeting the Global Need for Energy: How do we do both?” “Public Health and the People’s vaccine,” “Climate Change and Sustainable Development,” “South Caucasus: Regional Development and Prospective for Cooperation” and others.

The event is taking place in a hybrid format - representatives from different countries attend both in-person and via videoconference.

The Global Baku Forum of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center has been held annually since 2013 and is a platform for discussing the current international situation and the most serious threats to peace and security.
