UEFA rules block Arsenal's plans in Baku

Arsenal players' plans to show support for Henrikh Mkhitaryan during the Europa League final have been blocked by strict UEFA rules.

Report informs citing the Daily Mail that footballers of London’s representative wanted to wear shirts with Mkhitaryan's name on the back.

But UEFA insiders have confirmed any such moves are prohibited by strict rules.

The kit the players wear during the game — as well as any potential post-match winners' T-shirts — are subject to approval by European football's governing body, too.

Notably, Arsenal will face other London’s representative Chelsea at the final to be held on May 29. Mkhitaryan, a member of the Armenian national team, refused to come to Baku in the squad of Arsenal, while he received all security guarantees both from Azerbaijan and UEFA.
