UEFA proposes playing games every three days

After the Champions League was postponed due to coronavirus, UEFA is planning to the competition's remaining fixtures entirely into the three weeks.

UEFA holds crunch talks this week to finalize a plan to get both the Champions League and Europa League finished in August.

Report says, citing Mirror, the organization proposes to hold matches every three days. One proposal is for the semi-finals and finals of both competitions to be condensed into five days and take place in both Istanbul and Gdansk

The main priority is to complete the national championships. UEFA president Aleksander Čeferin will chair the meetings via video link after telling all 55 associate members that domestic leagues are the priority in terms of completing the season. Two days later, he will hold a meeting of the UEFA Executive Committee.

This plan would see the Champions League final played on August 29, and the Europa League final played three days later.

The knock-on effect would mean the group stages of next season's competitions would not start until October 20, a month after they usually begin.
