The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has opened a disciplinary case against the Football Federation of Armenia in connection with incidents at the Armenia-Croatia match, which took place in Yerevan as part of the EURO 2024 qualifying stage, Report informs referring to the official UEFA website.
The charges were brought against the federation for blocking public passages at the stadium, provocative messages of a political nature, pyrotechnics and a late start of the match.
The head coach of the Armenian national team, Oleksandr Petrakov, may be held accountable.
A provocation was committed against Azerbaijan during EURO 2024 qualifying match between Armenia and Croatia in Yerevan on September 11. During the match, fans of the Armenian national team launched a drone over the field with a so-called ‘flag’ of Karabakh separatists.
