Qarabag official: UEFA should punish those mixing sports with politics

“We have provided all the details of the match in the respective report of the UEFA representative. We will take further steps in accordance with the procedure and all necessary measures will be taken," General manager of the Qarabag FC Asif Asgarov told Report, commenting on Armenian provocations in the second round of the group stage of the Europa League after Qarabag - Dudelange 4-1 match. The club official said they did not allow Qarabag FC fans to be arrested by the police after the incident: “UEFA says sports should not interfere with politics. Therefore, the European football body should punish those who are against this. Yesterday we did not let our fans to be arrested."

Notably, the unpleasant incident took place after the second goal of the Aghdam team. The flag of separatist regime of Nagorno Karabakh was brought to the center of the stadium by the drone. Scottish referee John Biton had to stopped the match at the demand of the players of the Agdam team. The match resumed from the 31st minute.

AFFA leadership also reacted to the Armenian provocation. The National Association issued a statement condemning the incident.
