Qarabag equals record for most goals in extra time

Azerbaijani club Qarabag Aghdam equaled the record for most goals scored in extra time in European club tournaments, according to the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS), Report informs.

In the return match of the Champions League 3rd qualifying round, Qarabag defeated Ludogorets with a score of 7-2, scoring 4 goals in extra time, appointed after the main one ended 3-2, tying the aggregate score over two matches (4-4).

Thus, the Azerbaijani club repeated the record of European club tournaments for the number of goals scored by a team in extra time.

There have been 5 similar cases in the history of these competitions.

The maximum number of goals scored in extra time by both teams combined is 5 (Zenit vs Dinamo Minsk in 2018).
